ffs people will hafta chop in older style Hilux's, Transits etc which are probably still perfectly usable and 'upgrade', almost sounds unfair to me.

If its the same as the London lez you will still be allowed in with your old diesels..............................As long as you buy a one day permit for £100.

£200 I think

Mine cost £100, but I don't doubt its gone up by 100% in the last few months. its nothing to do with emissions, its just an easy way to screw yet more money from the motorist.

They tried this on Greater Manchester, they said no charge no metro link, they got told to stick the tram where the sun don't shine.

It all went away for a while then they built the tram lines anyway.

Its just another scam from the greedy, grasping, lazy public sector. Loads of tradespeople in London got rid of perfectly good vehicles to avoid these ridiculous charges. A proper days work would kill most of the lazy b******* in the public sector.

Whilst I do have some sympathy with regard to your opinions regarding public sector workers, I do have to say, I know many people who work ridiculous hours working in the Public sector (for no overtime).

A mate of mine (and my old boss) regularly puts in a 16 hour day and can't remember what weekends are, all for naff all money even their pensions( which used to be great) are being eroded.

Dave Humphries may have some thoughts on what it is to be employed in the public sector in an age of austerity.
