who still has there first chainsaw ?

I don't have the first saw I had (little Husky 236) but my other half's dad has it so it's still in the family.

Bought a 171 brand new from Cornwall farmers bout 5 years ago.....only did small jobs with it and had to sell it as I needed a better saw to do my cs30/31. Replaced it with a 2005 260, only ever put a brake band on it, rattles like the stamps and desperately needs a top end rebuild but just keeps on going! Definitely earned its keep!

First saw I ever bought was a 1980 Jonsered 630. Cost me 35 quid from an auction of equipment from Loughborough University grounds department in about 1994, and it's still going strong!

Remember first time i fired it up in a small garden in London - motorbike helmet on and about 4 parkas - psycho PPE. Neighbours bolted the doors and curtains twitched.

 

Still.on the same carb kit. 2nd spark plug in 28 yrs and that's about it. Not exactly been a maintenance burden. Well done Long Beach Stihlers.

I would still have my husky 65, if it hadn't been nicked a fantastic running saw ticked over like a clock.

Husky 385xp, although it's had a new crankcase, crankshaft, cylinder, 2 pistons, 2 carbs, and other miscellaneous bits! Plastics and the muffler are still original though!
