New role in life

Hi Guys n Gals,

Well, the deed is done. I put my notice in at work Friday, I have to take care of my Dad as he is now 88yrs old & needing help with day to day living. I will be taking him for an assesment next week for a powered wheel chair so we can get him out n about. He has been housebound for the last week & although he is in good spirits, it is driving him mad not being able to go into town every day & see all his mates.

Only problem I see with him having a power chair as opposed to a mobility scooter as he has now is, will this have an adverse effect on his tree climbing abilities when I get me Arb business up & running? :scared1::001_tongue::001_smile:

Aww c'mon chaps....He's hardly gonna be any use to me if I can't work him properly.....Or am I being just a little hard on him:sneaky2:

You decide

The worst problem with the onset of old age and infirmity is the inability to do things you used to do, so kitting him up with gizmos on his chair will help to rehabilitate him and increase his feelings of self-worth. Fitting an arm on the chair with a range of attachments such as hedgecutter will make him more practical. Perhaps a rake attachment on the chair and a blower in his hand will help you clear up quicker. The skies the limit.:001_smile: Perhaps a small jet engine would speed him up if he struggles to keep up.

I like the idea of the electric scooter. It will be both cheap to run and handy enough in gardens.Consider mounting a tow hitch and pulling a logging arch.

It might be abit hard on the Battery, but you could always recharge if from the clients house?

Can you not get an electric scooter with an in built scissor lift?? Would come in handy for doing road side stuff, Hedges/lamp post clearance!!

On a serious note pal, i hope all goes well for you and your father.

Hey thanks guys, all your ideas have been incorporated in a 'special' scooter I've ordered for him. Now, if I can just scrape together the £70k asking price:scared1:.......May have to raid me rainy-day piggy bank:001_tongue:

Thanks for the laugh lads, & the good wishes. Really put a shine on an otherwise dull week.:001_smile:
