Stein Helmet

Just thought i would share this with you guys.

Been re-sawing a load of very seasoned oak beams for a customer today, with the wind in my face. Yet again i have had a faceful of sawdust and my left eye is red raw. No scratching this time luckily- last time i was hospitalised with spalted beech, the nurse reckoned it looked like i had sandpapered my eyball- but eyes are sore as hell.

I have tried stihl integra helmet with the built in plastic visor with fine mesh, and that wasnt up to it. I have been using my climbing helmet (vertex vent) and goggles, but that wasnt brilliant, so now i have bitten the bullet and i have ordered a Stein one with the built in goggle things. Alien sawmilling here we go!

Saw these at the recent arb show Safe-Eyes | No Misting, No Scratching, Un-fog-able Eye Protection they were quite comfortable and look worth a punt if the Stien helmet doesn't help.

Fantastic. Thanks for that marc, reckon i'll have a pair of them too. I am that p'ed off with sore eyes i am going to get an arsenal of eye protection.

tommer9 , i have a stein helmet with the clear built in goggles and the mesh visor fitted together ! which you can do when using the Husqvarna muffs . and find they help keep fine dust out .

That might yet be happening....I knew you could do that, and if i find the goggles mist up i reckon i will put a mesh visor on for tree work. Its the fine dust from milling that really gets me.

I need 2 x Stein helmets with full blue-tooth 2way radio, preferably with husky fittings. Jonesie - price please mate.

I have these for on the ATV they are wiley-x xl-1 and have changable lenses, and have a seal that sits tight to your face, either that or as i have mentioned in the past the Uvex ultrasonics which are what stihl re brand as their own goggles, i find when im using the CSM they are very effective and not to bulky to have on when wearing the helmet with the visor down either when strimming etc
