There's not much a 7t won't split at 10-12" if you know your grain.

Why not save a few quid and throw the other stuff on the 'must do later' pile?

I have a 7 ton electric and I split 15inch long rings, I have not had a log I can't split. Nasty logs need to be "nibbled" but I have not been defeated yet.

Recently bought a rock machines venom 22 ton for £1500 (optional £100 build up price). Comes with a 4 way head and the standard single head. Nothing it won't go through. Had originally limited myself to £750 for the 12 ton version but glad I went this way. A lot of money but well worth it. Does horizontal, vertical and tows too. Briggs and Stratton Vanguard engine, so what's not to like!

Thanks for replies are Crossffer machines any good or ryetec or lawnflite ? Thanks

Lawnflite look to be the same machine as handy. But handy are cheaper. Quite a few different names and colours but made in the same factory.
