Which Log Gasification Boiler

Looking to install a log gasification boiler to replace my oil fired central heating boiler.

Just had my green deal certificate done, now just need to find a boiler, any recommendations?

I found this one Central Boiler (outdoor) Archives - Bentley Fire Shop

It works as an on demand boiler, and can vary from 45kw output, to virtually 0kw. This eliminates the need for a huge buffer tank, dunno if its any good though?

Windhager with the fancy mesa mixing system is very good. We are using the same amount of wood to heat the house to very comfortable temperature that we did to over heat one room and open the doors to partly heat.

We are using 50cm logs and log nuggets from a 110 branch logger and it works.

Sounds good.

What's a fancy mesa mixing system?

Oops!

A point I intended to emphasise.

Look for ease of lighting, some of the perfectly satisfactory once lit log burners, can be a trifle tedious to light.

Otoh Froling and Harz have a third door, which(per their claims leastwise) allow one to simply fill the chamber with the logs (but split timber logs obviously) then stuff in a handful or 2 of crumpled up newspaper, light paper, close the door and WALK AWAY.

The boilers operating system/software will take care of the rest.

Our Solarbayer=Vigas (afaiaa) is a bit tedious to light, in that one has to kindle a hot burning fire before loading the main charge of logs.

PS

I imagine the mesa mixing system is sommat to do with a vertical riser tube within the accumulator tank that helps/encourages stratification(from recall, having lusted after a Windhager in the past, available in Ireland but sole supplier is based in Cork, 400 miles away, sigh)

cheers

MESA is me getting the name wrong it is a MES (Modular Energy System) that makes the heating controls much more efficient (pdf attached). It controls the buffer tank, solar inputs (we don't have solar) and mixing of hot and warm water to make the batch burn last a lot longer.

Makes the heating system more controllable and automated - more like boiler that has a constant fuel supply (oil, gas, hoppered pellet or wood chip).

I am sure that ETA do a similar system to make the most out of a batch burning system.
