What it fails to mention is the quantity of particulates produced by traffic and electrical energy production. It's a pretty useless study when there are no comparisons, yes burning wood produces particulates - but how much in comparison to running a car or turning on an electric fire.

 

Anyway, I've reduced my carbon footprint - I drive everywhere:biggrin:

The Times normally give a well balanced view and this seems to have fallen heavily into the "scare mongering" camp.

To keep my boat warm this winter it is either going to be diesel fumes or wood-burning fumes. Which is the worse !?

Yeah and diesel isn't as dirty as everyone thinks either. I'd rather have PM10s than ultrafines thanks very much. Here we go again.

cos they cant tax the wood used as fuel, the wannabe ***** that run the country are trying to scare the sheeple back onto taxable resources........smoke and mirrors all over again

And when the particulate filter on your modern truck gets regenerated all the particulates that it absorbed are the released into the atmosphere in one hit ! Bonkers ....
