I was about to start work on a big T.P.O`d oak tree. Having a quick run through the job with the customer and he told me he had been giving permission by a tree officer to reduce the bottom half of the tree by 30% and the top by 20%.

I wish i had a picture of the end result, it certainly let abit more light into his garden!!!::blink:

He actually did say that though, but after a few facts and questions boiled that down to 1 small overhanging branch to remove and a deadwood which i was abit more convinced by :001_smile:

I’ve had numerous ones over the years…

One that springs to mind was a lady who wanted a 300-year Oak removed because the tree drops Acorns on her children’s heads when they play out in the garden. When I came round for a visit she had them out the back wearing yellow builders hard-hats. The Oak stayed.

Another one was a lady who swore blind that squirrels were purposely throwing pine-cones at her patio doors – I had a mental vision of a little group of Squirrel ‘chavs’ sat on a branch daring each other to see if they could hit this patio door! I couldn’t contain myself!
