The boots in that vid are very good. I`ve been wearing them for a few years. I just thought a protective toe-cap was a protective toe-cap. The video surprised me.

bob.....can you video the cuting through one of those steel core lanyards alongside a rope strop?? i have this arguement severa; times with people who insist you can cut through steel core as quickly as rope...i just dont buy it

 

will try thats what is delaying us i just dont buy it either

have you tried cutting your rope with a silky get an old bit and put it into your system and hang from it 6 inch from floor and with the last inch of your silky it will cut through it

A steel strop will hold out longer than a rope, but its not cut proof, thats the point me thinks, say its caught on a peg and you don't notice it then there is a good chance you will cut through your strop, but the steel should give a distinct feeling through the saw and hopefully give you fair warning. Another reason why you should keep your life line level with your knees

 

 

I think its important, to make it clear, that no safety kits will give 100% protection, its a combination of good working practice and the protection.

 

As for those Lavoro am I the only one who does'nt have a problem with it? If your not paying attention to the bar or your positioning you will get a bite.

The fibeglass toe caps should give you a chance at noticing.

It did'nt surprise me, but its not a waste of time bringing it up, i'm just being on the side of the manafacture.

Lol! I own two pairs of Lavoro Aquafells composite, easily the most comfortable boots ever invented in the history of arboriculture apart from Oregon Ultimates.

 

Shame that the toe cap wears away too quickly causing water to leak in, oh, and also the soles have started falling off. But I've wore both pairs for about 2 years.

 

I'm looking at Haix Tibet Forests for my new boots, are they steel or composite? And are they any good. The last pair of Haix I had didn't last a year.
