I’m just starting out in the business and need a top handle saw for my 308/CS39 aerial cutting course. Any advice is more than welcome.

I’ve looked at a few and heard lots about the pros and cons but I thought i’d try here as well.

Of the three petrol saws personally I would go for the echo. The two battery saws are pruning saw so have less power than the three petrol saws. There are also petrol powered pruning saws. The stihl 150t and the smaller echo pruning saw (can`t remember the model) are also good but less power than the larger saws.

I would say this . If you go for the Husky you have got to baby it , no question . Probably the strongest engine and fastest cutting saw here but it is frigging fragile . Don't ever drop it on its strop always clip it high . If you cant grantee you will do this then go for the latest 201 . It has all the up dates and mods that put it above the original 201 that was just pants . ...

The trainer should have a saw for you to use.

In a few mor months I'm sure the 201t-m will be available here, then it'll be between the 540 and 201. Both have their weak links, and will break if you're the kind of climber that clatters your saw through the tree!

What he and the others said! Not sure when you chaps get it, but i'm well impressed with the new 201T-C with m-tronic. Get that, or try and find an old 200T:thumbup:

Do NOT get the current/old 201T! It is a piece of poo
