Do bottom line if im reading this right,an inexperienced member of staff is using a blunt saw...a blunt saw is a dangerous saw.If he cant/wont sharpen it,hes draggin brush and raking up cuttings.Dont care how promising he is

 

That was my thoughts if the kid had anything about him he would want to know how to sharpen not avoid it.

Fair point... Mick/mountain man, I follow your posts and comments eagerly as I find you one of the funnier/wittier and more intelligent members, but this thread kind of has a "moot point" feeling to it. You're wasting time and money surely. A saw with a blunt blade is inefficient having detrimental effects on the saw as it has to work harder. Sharpening a saw is Tree surgery 101, surely?
