Hmmm I do believe I was giving an opinion rather than accusing you of lying :)

Opinions are like area holes .... Everyone's got one

And some of them stink ;)

The trick to opinions is recognising that your is the one that stinks:laugh1:

hello everyone, i used to just stick tractor universal oil in my series 3 2.25 diesel but now i have bought a 300 tdi hicap, will tractor universal be ok in it (as it is fairly cheap and i already have lots:thumbup1:) if not could you please recommend the oil i should be putting in it thanks, jim

I dont see why not we have , if its good enough for a sixpot perkins phaser turbo diesel tractor that runs flat all day it must be ok for a 300tdi. We have used Rye oils equivalent to Castrol MP plus in just about everything including the small stuff like stump grinders.

You mean to say it needs to be drained and replaced?

All the land rovers i have had i thought were two stroke total loss systems, just keep topping up, eventually its changed, wipe the filter off occasionly. Serviced.
