Did a job for this guy today:

Mick Grant - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Real legend. 7 times TT Winner and sparring / rival with Barry Sheene.

Couldn't meet a nicer chap, very unassuming but happy to chat about his time.

In his 70's but still competing in Trials events!!!!!!!!

Who you got?

Russ

I remember Mick Grant, works Kawasaki rider. He once raced in the Trans-Atlantic series against the likes of Kenny Roberts, with one hand strapped to the bars because he had injured his wrist and couldn't hold on on full acceleraion! I agree, absolute legend.

I worked for Dave Benson-Phillips who used to host 'Get your own back' on TV

Last week did a tree for Peter Griffin! - His wife was NOT like Lois though:confused1:

In my private and commercial days did a job for lady Robson obviously not as famous as her late husband Bobby but she was a pleasure to work for teas coffees etc, as a massive Newcastle fan she showed me the trophy room which was impressive but not as impressive as the house though

I grew up 3 miles from Silverstone & his time was when I was a teen helping out on the track & painting the Marlboro chicanes pre big races. The Marlboro Girls with the 70's swimsuit look "stirred my loins"........

Pre H&S / Hyper security days, the pit lane was totally open and you could literally walk along with the guys doing the real stuff as if you were part of it. Good times.

Part of the driveway to lord verlams place , the driveway was 2 miles long , house is like a mini Buckingham palace. All the titles ( lord/lady etc) they were very down to earth people. Didn't get a cuppa though:thumbdown:
