I think the jet stream needs to be in the right place for it to dump a bit of American weather on us. I think a dump of snow for a week would help a good few people on here fingers crossed at least for some hard frosts.

my guess and it is nothing more than a guess! wet with a very early very cold spell before xmass that is short lived turning back wet just after xmass and a late spring

 

 

Your guess is just as good as anyone's guess at the Met Office whose chief executive is on £220,000 a year for guessing. £80,000 more than the Prime Minister.

 

My advice to all is to forget about slaving away in all weathers with your back breaking, dangerous and unrewarding woodwork, and join the met office where you will have a nice cozy indoor job on a comfy chair looking at computer screens, having cups of coffee and biscuits brought to you by some dolly in a short skirt, massive pay and huge pension and job for life.

They probably never even look out of the window.
