thinking about getting a Heizohack HM 6-300 to go behind my valmet 8050

I think the minimum required hp is around 120, my valmet must be around 110 maximimum, also how heavy are these machines

how much better performance would I see over my tp250

thanks

john

The Hatz engined ones have 70HP so why would a PTO one need more?

Anyway the throat is much bigger than a TP and best of all if you feed a rail clip through it it only breaks a few cheap blades!

The crane will use a few of those horses too. Not saying it won't run the chipper, but the serious biomass chipping rigs are all running 200-300 hp.

Careful John. Dave and I were chatting to Alex price about this at the apf the top roller frame on the 300's is a bit thin and so can't be fitted with pressure assist. Heizohack only use the weight of the roller to bite the brash. I'd say pressure assistance is a must if you want to chip brash.

Re horsepower you are fine. Heizo have a really low requirement, I know of a 300 that might be for sale. Give me a ring sometime.

As above, you will need ACP pressure assit for brash ideally.

If you want to crane feed and keep on linkage then the only option is the 5-400, but the 8050 is a bit under powered for it.

The 6-300 is fine for hand feeding, with your horsepower and ok on the linkage, and tbh will cope with brash that's going in by hand.

I ran 5-400 on 8950 with roof mounted kesla, brilliant set up if you need to be linkage mounted, beyond that it's axles and bigger infeed.
