The load weight for the 2600 is 1850kg and the 3500kg is 2150kg load weight so in reality i would be paying 600 quid extra for 300kg extra payload. When you put it that way it kind makes the decision a little easier especially as I want to put the mesh sides on!

 

I will be towing with an L200!

Are you sure that is correct for the 3500kg, as much as I don't like it my 10x5 ifors payload is 2625kg, I noticed what appears to be quite a few mistakes on the brian james website for the twin and tri axle flatbeds unladen weights.

Yep my mistake! its actually 2570kg for the 3.5 tonner! 2150kg is for the 3tonne:blushing:

that's probably with no ramps and mesh sides

all these bits and pieces increase the unladen weight

From my vague memory my 12ft Brian James with mesh sides and ramps weighs almost exactly 1100kg. Though I never weighed it empty, so this assumes the plated weight of the machine on the back to be correct.

 

Either way all tippers are fairly heavy but I use mine as Daniel does, mowers, tracked chipper, woodchip, logs, brash, excavators, stump grinder etc etc

I'm almost kicking myself for even thinking it, let alone saying it, but here's a question I bet we know the answer to but don't really want to acknowledge that we do!

 

Read a thread earlier talking about LOLER testing for front loading tractor, I knew it was a requirement having read the reviewed LOLER guidance, but how about tipping trailers then? I don't recall seeing a specific reference to tip trailers, but technically, isn't it a lifting operation??

As far as I can make out, lifting isn't it's primary function so it comes under PUWER rather than LOLER.

might not be loler but some other piece of paper i imagine.

Recently asked why front loader and not rear lift arms?

Answer, one moves things and one lifts things! Don't think he really knew either.
