Weve not got time for that, you are not made of sugar so you wont disolve:001_rolleyes::lol:

To old to get wet anymore, those days are long gone. I can remember years ago the old fellas telling me to "wear a coat when its raining, you,ll suffer later in life" like a fool I took no notice

Do they do any good to help with vibration issues? I cant see it gets cold enough in this country to justify them but what do you think?:confused1:

Looking at a new 661 and wondered if there was any good reason for spending the extra?

I wouldn't buy a saw without heated handles now. I think its around 50 quid to have them and maybe 200g on the saw. When you dont need them you can turn them off.

When its raining or cold in the mornings they keep the hands warm. First time i've had mine on in a while this week but it the wet and the cold they're worth 50 quid.

Theory is that they improve circulation because the warmth keeps the blood flowing near the top of the skin thus reducing the risk of white finger.

I don't have heated handles on my 660 but i wish i did. Didn't think i'd use it enough but i was wrong.

Not sure about the benefits for arb as the trigger time is less than forestry but in the latter it makes a difference. If your worried about vibes though ringing a stem up with a 661 is more than likely a two person job anyway with vibe exposure.

+1 - never buy a new saw without heated handles - I suffer badly from CTS in both hands.

If they are not working as mentioned above it is almost invariably a simple electrical disconnection - broken wire or connection in one case a bit of sawdust in a switch

Do you find it help with the CTS?

I suffer from a pens and needles sensation from a old neck injury (nerve damage), thinking it could help :confused1:

Heated handles great, but they usually come hand in hand with heated carbs, you do not want or need a heated carb in the UK, i usually diss conect that side of it, also never carry two saws together with the bars through one anothers handle, the heater element is on the underside of the top handle, if you nick the handle casing it will kill the heater and you will need a new top handle, as you need a circuit the rear handle will cease to function as well, this is for the Husqvarna machines, not sure about Stihl.
