well in fairness i have never had the vent.

first time i wore the black diamond i got to the top of my ladder(yes i said ladder) and almost climbed back down as i thought id forgot my helmet, its that light.

im not sure if it complies to the new en numbers however?? im sure someone will know. also i dont know how good the ear defender attachments etc are for it, i believe they are available now as they never sued to be. i personally wear ear plugs and glases though so this doesnt affect me.

yvonne, how does the altios differ to the ellios? it appears to look the same?

Funnily enough we just brought the Altios in to stock yesterday thinking it would be a good helmet to keep 'hot heads cool'! It's a neat helmet and has a suspended net in the inside, so that you don' feel like the helmet is pressing down on your head. And although there is plenty of all round ventilation, if it gets a bit chilly, you can close them off with the velcro pads stored in the liner. see Petzl blurb

We were looking for a 'guinea pig' to road test it for us and you might just be the right chap for the job? Only small catch to a free helmet would be that we'd like a bit of good, honest feedback - either through Arbtalk or on our own blog/facebook. Interested????

Does it come with muffs and visor.....send 10?...

There isn't the option to add muffs/visors to these helmets. Ear plugs/goggles/specs would serve the purpose. These helmets DO conform to the EN standards - top and side impact. Designed for ice climbing/caving.

We'll have them in the web shop tomorrow...........

Cheers for the link mate. They sound really good if a bit pricey. Have you tried them out? I also play drums in a heavy metal band too so may come in handy there too:001_smile:
