What climbers helmet to buy?

coolest helmet for summer i have found is the black diamond half dome.

 

 

I'm sure it's cool, but I bet it's HOT!

Im thinkin of gettin a new lid but just using ear plugs instead of defenders cos i just sweat like crazy when there down!!

 

Was looking at the new petzl altios or black diamond? anyone used either,good points bad points?

Funnily enough we just brought the Altios in to stock yesterday thinking it would be a good helmet to keep 'hot heads cool'! It's a neat helmet and has a suspended net in the inside, so that you don' feel like the helmet is pressing down on your head. And although there is plenty of all round ventilation, if it gets a bit chilly, you can close them off with the velcro pads stored in the liner. see Petzl blurb

 

 

We were looking for a 'guinea pig' to road test it for us and you might just be the right chap for the job? Only small catch to a free helmet would be that we'd like a bit of good, honest feedback - either through Arbtalk or on our own blog/facebook. Interested????

im using a stein plasma for climbing fitted with peltor defenders and tinted visor and whne im on the ground or its raining a use my petzel with peltor defenders and mesh visor . if a had to chose one then i would chose the stein every time

So i take it you rate the black diamond steve? I use a vertex at the min how does it compare? I find the vertex slides about a bit too much no matter how i adjust it!
