Are you crazy!! That'll danage my lungs and my bank balance :laugh1:

My old firm ran aspen for years and I was never convinced, it made the 200ts perform very poorly we eventually got them to switch back to 2 stroke and the saws ran fine.

I won't buy it because it's far to expensive, i get free petrol I only have to add the 2 stroke, chain oil, chains, files, parts and eventually new saws with my massive tool allowance :laugh1: the joys of a utility cutter

Sounds like 200t's needed the diaphragms and "o" ring on the pump pistons changing for new one's.

When you switched back to pump fuel the solvents make them soft and swell up.

We have loads of 200t & 201t's running on Aspen 100%

Again, good practice to avoid supermarket fuel, but surely Esso also contains Ethanol?

More in the stupid Westcountry!

It does mate but a lower % .

Except in the S/west :001_rolleyes:

Thats good then, because apparently many oils do not.

But what else sets RL above all others?

100% Poly-ol ester basestock. mostly. Somehow RL, have rights to the production :confused1: and yes you certainly pay for it.

here's a wee read:

But are'nt most synthetic oils made from esters?

I think Rock racing oil is.

NOT AT ALL!! Blimey no!

95% of that on the market as "synthetic" is blended from Group 3 Basestock, itself derived from cracked group 2 in many cases.

Up a level (group 4) is PAO which includes Mobil 1, AMS etc.

Group 5 includes the esters and poly-ol esters.

Only RL is 100% poly-ol. Motul is non polol ester, mixed with PAO as required.

Christ! This gets confusing. I bought the stuff cos you and Stubby wouldn't shut up about it, so I assumed it must be good. In over my head now!

I love the smell, reminds me if Speedway. Just a pain that it doesn't come in metric bottles!
