I wish pumps were labelled so we all know if they had ethanol and if so what %.

They are marked . I think it says on the side of the pump E5 which I think means 5% ethanol .

You should use either hp super or husky XP, don't use the red crap!

Husky strongly advise that, when my 560xp seized after 20 hours they blamed the 'poor quality' red Sthil oil I had been using.

Damn right, every high performance 2 stroke engine the world over will explode in seconds without it.

Right, all new saws should be run on jaso fd oil. Stihl red is jaso fb. This is what the manual states:

The red stuff is only one grade above the old crap that had to be mixed at 25:1

The JASO standard is not a sole indication of oil quality.

There are oils that I would not use which conform to FD, and other much better oils with a lower FC rating.

Best to stick with a well known brand such as Rock, Stihl, Huskie or Aspen.

Redline is not well known in this industry. It may well be fine but I doubt its any better than the above 4 which are perfectly good enough.

Maybe so Barrie, but the manual specifically states jaso fb oils are to be used at 33:1. If the manual says it must be done, then rules must be followed to maintain warranty!

Also, the manual states ethanol content must be <10%. So aspen or motomix are the only fuels that are widely available that comply with the requirements.
