Notice a few people saying they're burning rotten wood. I've always been dubious about picking stuff up that has wet rot. Once split and stored under cover does is dry out good to burn still

A mixture. Some old conifer, dead walnut, some holly (hopefully dry - it's in small pieces), a few bits of sycamore and some unidentified stuff I found in the log store! Possibly cherry come to think of it. Don't think I've got enough for this year, especially as some bits of the holly are still a bit moist inside.

Pretty sure all my logs are dead :laugh1:

 

I think some of my unidentified stuff is poplar. It was windfall from last year. Is quite light and burns very hot
