Log SACKS not nets???

Thinking of doing logs in sacks instead of loose, partly as changing vehicle. Now I can only assume they'll be a faff to load?

 

However, has anybody got a link/s to supplier of such bags?

 

I don't mean garage forecourt type nets but bigger i.e. barrow bags or whatever they're called.

Got my bags off ebay, good quality and quick delivery. I'd recommend trialling them first with your current system. The 0.2m3 bags you can load/unload yourself, not sure about the larger sizes. Be prepared for the following;

 

Customer: "What is the size difference between your bag and my usual builder's bag?"

You: "What size is your usual builder's bag?"

Customer "Don't know"

SG Baker and Bag Supplies both do suitable firewood bags, both Cu Meter and barrow bags.

 

Be aware though that the dimensions are slightly different, the Baker ones are taller, so stacking them in a barn needs a bit of forethought if you have different brands.

Looks like they're sold out but could give them a call barrow bags

 

You might be able to get them cheaper but I just offer customers the cost off next order if I get the bag back, seems to work.

I use barrow bags all the time. They are relatively easy to use for shifting large volumes of logs in to awkward places. Lots of customers like the fact I can get them through gates, up and down steps etc and tip straight in to a shed or garage.

I tend to do minimum order of 3 barrow bags at £25 each and the cost goes down a bit the more you order (hardwood). Lots of customers dont have space to store several cubic metres of logs and are quite happy to buy in smaller quantities. Still cheaper and more convenient than buying nets from a forecourt.

MCA-Kingstone barrow bags are taller and are 0.2 cubic metre and also have a loop underneath which is useful when emptying
