50-60cc Chainsaw Comparison

Nope. Maybe you could check Arboristsite for those legs and read the 6100 story there. I can't really be bothered. O and Eddy_t, isn't the whole petrol chainsaw thingie produced by Stihl and Husqvarna in the end a complete borrow of Dolmar?

BTW, I can assure you that there's probably no such thing as a borrow. Those companies have their legal stuff probably sorted out better than us.

yes thats true on arboristsite randy done a thread called

''materminded meets dolmar PS-6100'' he done a strip down of the saw and commented on it :thumbup:

What does make me smile about the 'Dolmar is better than husqvarna' statement is:

Centrifugal air cleaning (jonsered patent)

Lower emissions - strato engine (zenoah patent)

Spring av (can't remember which husky owned company it's from)

Mpi technology (e-carb) (husky patent)

Easy start (Stihl elasto-start)

That's an awfully large amount of borrowed tech! It pretty much leaves the dogs and casings as their own

add it all together and you have a saw that starts well , powerful , very economical , easy on the hands vibes no cat exhaust , no auto tune

recycling is good ive been told :thumbup::thumbup:

Which things in particular? Not the autotune that I know...

What? The stuff that Stihl rents? Stratified charge (2-mix), centrifugal filtration (Stihl don't advertise that bit of tech), spring av, the e-carbs, in return husky get cheap zama carbs and the elasto-start thing on the 540. Husky have patented the stuffers, so they won't appear in any stock saw until they invent some other gizmo

Autotune (early version) and part of the "strato" technology, as far as I know.

They have of course also adopted some older "Husky" features, but those weren't patented, as far as I know. The "Air Injection" never was patented, and the origin of the feature has been debated now and then. Two facts remain, something like it was used by at least Pioneer and Remington in the 1960s, and the "final touch" that made it the "Air Injection" had its first documented appearance on the 262xp in 1989. Saws like the P7700/2077 didn't get it before 1992 (model year, could be late 1991). The still open question is when the 2051 got it.....

If it was Partner, Jonsered or Husky that first dug up the ol' 1960s design and started working on it is an open question - but the Swedish production of all tree brands happened at the Husky factory anyway at that point.
