Considering that the spikes are on the wrong side, they are just plain stupid as well as useless.

Haha!

The shanks go up the outside of your leg.

 

I'm curious as to how effective they'd be.

Dunno from the pics of them in action I would not mind giving them a try .... It's a different concept for sure!!

 

It looks a good idea mechanically as the base where your foot rests is better supported with your weight not trying to straighten the metal and twice as many spikes looks a good idea.

I think they would put unnecessary side load on your knee joint as the shaft is not directly under the gaff .

 

 

I thought that too, but without trying I wouldn't know.

 

Besides, I've heard that nowadays you can get new knee joints at your local Kwikfit! :P
