After nearly 10 years of working for some one I have gone self employed ( but still 3 days a week for my old boss). I thought it was time to give contract climbing a go. Saved up my penny's and purchased a old partner van thinking it would be more practical. On the way home started getting very hot!!! Got home and the water tank thing was full of oil. That place is getting a call 1st thing tomorrow. Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhh all i wana do is work, not mess about FFS. Maybe i will save up more and get sum thing newer. So frustrated

Change the oil cooler, clean the header tank and hopefully that's it. A lot cheaper than a head gasket.

I had a Berlingo which has the same engine and the oil cooler went twice on it. But the symptoms are identical to a head gasket going with oil in the water.

Good luck

Spent July/August running just under 2 full time jobs to pay off a decent wedge of my wife's car that we got on a credit card. 1 week before I was due to complete the 2nd full time job I followed traffic through a puddle and killed the engine. Insurance wrote it off, paid out (thank god) but their market value wouldn't get me anything like what I had before so had to spend all the extra money from the 2nd job on buying another car

On the other hand though, I didn't see my wife for those 2 months :thumbup1:

But when I did see her, at the end of all this, and every day since, she has done this face: :cursing:
