Who knows what is knocking out most of the 'frisia' variety? They are dying off in droves here - I can only remember seeing 2 this spring/summer that weren't in serious decline.

 

I remember reading about this somewhere before, but as so often happens, promptly forgot what I read:mad1:

I've heard its a sunlight and water issue? The normal green leafed Robinia are doing o.k its the garden varieties that are suffering.

Scrapped a decent sized one a few months ago that had a small amount of HF but wet rotten roots; jeez, the smell... Wasn't aware of a widespread problem though. The situation was thin, poor soil on a slope so perhaps the 'wet summer' theory could hold some water (geddit?)
