pricing forestry work

I have just started up myself and I have been offered a reasonable forest of about 1500 trees to take down about 60 to 80 foot each. I am only really experienced in tree surgery on a small scale like gardens and such. What would be the best way to price this at? What would be the best saw for the job is an ms 660 a bit overkill?

First up, has a felling licence been put in place?

Is your job to fell and stack? What's happening to the brash?

You will need someone working with you.

Insurance.

What diameter trees? That will determine guide bar length and then saw size.

Work on a day rate covering your costs and wages etc.

Honestly I'm not sure haha as far as I know what's happening is I'm getting subcontracted in to Fell sned and stack then someone else is getting subcontracted to collect and process all the logs after me as far as I'm aware a licence is in place but I've not even saw the job as I work all over the uk the job is based in the highlands and I'm down at the bottom of England right now. All sizes have been given to me through the phone so I haven't been able to asses it for myself as of yet.

Remember in forestry the timber is your product, not like arb where the timber is waste, cut the pegs off flush, nice straight ends and use a tape measure.

I've done a small amount of forestry but nowhere near this size or by myself. To be honest i think I'm biting off more than i can chew
