Current prices for Cordwood

Dear Arbtalkers,

How much is the current rate for delivered hardwood. A mixture of Ash, Sycamore and Beech. I have a couple of interested parties. Just want to get a fair price for everyone concerned. I would be delivering it in manageable lengths.

Many thanks

TC

how do you and your customers get on with oak? personally I find it to be difficult in every respect....difficult to cut, split, season and burn but that could just be me!

Sorry TC for slight derail.

Cuts and splits like butter when fresh. Burns great when dry :thumbup1:

Slow to dry and not much volume per ton

interesting. I went to see a customer the other day whose log shed was full of dry oak. he wanted beech from me and was going to give the oak away to the chap who works for him. he's got an open fire and he reckoned that the oak just smouldered and filled the room with smoke.

Back on topic mixed hardwood prices are between £40 and £50/ton roadside up here in n yorks
