The forst chippers are just rebadged Jensen chippers with buttons I can't work! Seriously, the buttons don't detect anything less than a thump. The hydraulics on the tracked models are a bit sensitive too, but in a way of go or stop, you can't creep them on high revs, and the bearings on the non-driven roller on the tracks are prone to disintegrating when turning or extending/withdrawing on a vari-track

I had a look at the new 230 Timberwolf at the apf and was impressed with it, plenty of changes made. Wider infeed hopper, grease nipples outside the body, lock bar for changing blades, bigger blades etc I think when the tracked one comes out we will be investing!

Obviously cannot speak for your local dealer but we have priced them within a few hundred pounds of the TW150, from speaking with other dealers on the stand at the show we are all pricing around the same ballpark.:thumbup:

So no contest then I wish I went to take a look at the 230 at apf now

I wonder how much lower the depreciation is on the sub 750KG chippers is, than on the heavier machines???

 

So maybe it make economic sense to buy the lighter machine, but change it more often?

 

 

The sub 750's hold their price well, the build quality is the same as the larger chippers. I don't actually understand where they've saved weight, everything is bigger, the covers are metal, the working bits are all heavier (engine, flywheel, blades, rollers, etc). I can't actually see where they've made it lighter, surely spare tyres don't weigh that much? Maybe they have filled the tyres with helium?
