How much firewood do you process - M3 ?

I am sure many on the Forum are interested to learn what numbers others are producing in the industry and I havn't seen this question posted for a while - so here we go.

 

How many cubic metres of firewood did you process in the last 12 months ( reasonable guesstimates please! ) Softwood and Hardwood figures would be a bonus - Thanks

Typically 300; a lot less last year. Just going to keep doing it for regulars, not interested in taking on more.

Off cuts from the mill - probably 150 cubic metres a year, complete mix. Hate doing firewood!

Five hundred august to august last year. Six hundred on stock for this year either run out or have some left lol

Last year the mild winter killed business for several I have spoken to. Many out there are only offering 50/50 mix as the hardwood is not being harvested as it was unless you want Chestnut and as many of the smaller outfits are only just buying in timber for the season, that's not to popular.

Did 642 in the tax year 2013/14. Sales are slightly down now on this point last year.

Round this way lots of V. small producers turning out < 100 m3 per annum. This of course adds up to 1000's of m3.

 

In addition I tend to think that as this as a very rural area, a huge number of people who burn wood have access to their own and Farmers also sell a surprising amount of mainly green wood to local people.

Only my second year in firewood, started my business 4 yrs ago since a 15yr break from the industry.

 

40 cube hardwood last year

100 cube this year, all split by hand
