On the transit chassis there's a few holes (from new not rust) was once told to fill with grease as they got from inside out..

 

Yup, any box chassis will do that, if you take the engine breather pipe and lead it in there, the oily vapour will help prevent the tinworm

Dinitrol 3125 for the cavities and the chassis, then cover that with dinitrol 4941.

Have used waxoyl in the past but would not go back to it after using dinitrol in the above combination, but a lot more expensive.

Yes a friend gave me a can of this a while back- reckons its superior to waxoyl as waxoyk becomes brittle and chips off where bilt hamber is more flexible?

That would be good. I have never known waxoyl to become brittle, fairly stiff over many years yes but any of the waxy coatings mentioned should be fine.

Mathew you presumably meant thin it with white spirit.

What ever you use it helps if it is warm as Treequip says. Warm day is best and stand the can in a bucket of hot water
