Which saws do you prefer in the woods??

Exactly, much better saws, I prefer my 385 to either (I have used all 3). I personally find the 385/390 lighter, and simply swapping the carb for the 372xt carb is a great improvement

 

Hi Eddy

you say you get better performance with a 372xp carb fitted to a 390xp. The reason I ask is I have a 390 with a 30" bar and when clogging logs in the saw horse it can bog down a bit. I don't really want to go the route of porting and exhaust mods! But I may have to!!

Its the carb of the X Torque not the older XP .

My 560 was going through sycamore today so fast (straight felling then ringing for a customer) that we got well ahead on a job. Helped that most of the stems were just shy of 18".....

Too good to last?

I'm scared that the saw will be like a modern truck, and will be a knacker when it's older.

It's made it's money already though, what a belter.
