yep i have had to wait 3/4 weeks for them to send out a replacement nylon chain catcher as mine was snapped after the chain came off the bar so i fitted an alloy one from a Husky ground saw (372xp i tink). Poor parts supply would be enuf for me to return to a new stihl top handled saw.......lucky i have a MS200T also.

I know you want the work done & parts supplied under warranty but have you tried other Echo dealers for parts? It isn't simply your dealer waiting for enough customer orders to fill their own order. Ask the dealer how long they'd be prepared to wait for a backbox for their Audi or BMW. Before giving up and going to another outlet.

It would be 30 minute job to cut it in two, tack the baffle in place and weld it back together. It would cure the problem till they get your new silencer and if the baffle is an interference fit it's a design fault and it's going to happen again anyway as the heat cycling will guarantee.

I looked at mine, which is ok, & I think you might well be able to do it without any cutting, just a couple of spot welds or a bit of braze.

It sounds like the hardest part of the job is taking the silencer off the saw then, don't the workshops have basic maintenance tools like a welder ?

side cover removal and exhaust removal takes about 3 minutes.

wonder if cutting open the zorst and removing the offending loose part and placing it in the thrash receptacle would cause any running issues ie; would it run lean as a result and cause enjun damage? suppose ya cud simply tune it. Bet the warranty would be null and void then.
