Basically any rope you get that is sold in Europe (probably with the exception of Beal Dynastat) is not a static as they are branded but they are semi static.. Aka as bouncy as your arb line

That's what I thought too. What I'm trying to figure out is which is the best rope to use for SRWP when tied to a base anchor.

ie: low or no stretch at all because you'll get bounce/stretch from the tree and the anchor connection.

Has anyone used this Edelrid Powerstatic for SRWP? If so, which device do you use?

Thanks.

Yep! It's the type of line we use as the safety line on pole climbing. It's alright stuff but very hard on the hands. Used the RW but found I had more wraps than normal. 180fts worth doesn't last long.

i use a rope made by singing rock its 11.7 same specs as arb rope. ITs strange though as it feels stiff can be pushed up like a snake to a point but runs really smooth and knots nicely. haven't noticed any twisting or milking. i bought 200ft for £80

Do you have a link? sounds interesting.

Cougar is pretty decent even with 60m of rope in the system:001_smile:

STATIC R44 11.0 - SingingRock.cz

Did a long line of oaks ground acnhor had a about 2mtr left over on the base anchor, when at full length couldn't feel any stretch. I like climbing on it not sure how abrasion resistant it will prove to be. but it last 1/2 the time of arb rope its cheap.
