bulk bag log delivery

I use an Ifor Williams plant trailer with ramp on the back, I made a platform for the front half with slots in for a pallet pump truck so only the bag is lifted and the back bag just sits on the pump truck, throw a few logs under the bag once you get them off so you can get the pump truck out, no need for pallets, I get 95% of my bags back on next delivery.

You could use your beavertail in the same way.

Dragging the full bags anywhere will result in the bottoms being worn away in one trip. A big fertiliser bag laid in the bottom of a log bag act as a repair, these can usually be begged from most cereal farmers in April/May time.

Actually, if you find you do need to drag bags, a double-layer of fertilizer bags or folded over plastic sheeting under them will act as a lubricant. plastic bag against plastic bag will sl-i-i-i-ide.

I'm not in the log business

But

I wonder if the solution is bagged logs from latvia sold from the forecourt of a closed petrol station

Big handwritten sign CASH AND CARRY LOGS

Let customers fill their boots, no delivery involved

Six month lease on forecourt from say september to march

Can't imagine simpler business model

you cant get a seasons logs in a boot, depending on the area you live a lot of people wont put logs into their boot, renting an old filling station is expensive with no client base to draw from. importing these logs is not excatly green putting 2-3k miles on them and for a lot of customers local sustainable logs is important.

A simpler business model is to answer the phone, take the order and deliver it, rather than try to find a unused garage forecourt, take all stock there and sit and wait for someone to drive past with a big enough vehicle to carry enough logs home for the season. Really??
