Please call before coming as access may be limited. Will accept woodchip that is clean and hardwood cord wood, tree trunks etc etc, no small branches .
  2. Thanks, just providing heat for a kiln setup, problem being is seen a few similar setup but no one can give a rough guide to consumption using big Heston bales, farmers don't really see the straw as a cost so don't keep an accurate tally, glenfarrow even though have been very helpful say it depends on the straw, weight of bale, how compact or loose it is baled etc which I appreciate makes a difference , 389000 kw is max you can produce to achieve tier 1 but as you say surely saying 40ton of biomass to every 100000 kw. Would differ massively if burning sold oak or straw or pallet wood ?
  3. Hi , can anyone help, looking at a glenfarrow 295 boiler for a firewood kiln set up, however we are finding it very difficult to work out the consumption of the boiler when burning either timber or straw Heston bales, bales being our preferred option as available and a lot less work than processing/stacking/drying fresh timber all before it can be used as a fuel. Anyone's thoughts would be appreciated, thanks

  5. Thanks, paper rustler , is the 200 litres based on 5 day week 7 hour days? ! What make do you have? I suppose it does depend on type size etc of timber cutting too?!
  6. Great thanks, so pretty much on parr with a tractor then, thanks!
  7. Hi looking at buying a 60kva 3 phase generator to power poach 360, under full load the manufactures state they use 13 litres/hour , where as a tractor powering our current 350 posch uses about 25 litres/day! Does anyone use silent genny and can you advise on size and fuel consumption thanks!

  9. Can anyone help please. We have been approached by a couple of local pubs and businesses wanting us to grit their car parks in the winter months using our quad, does anyone do this, really wanting an idea of how to price it! Grit is roughly £5/25kg bag. Jobs are no more than 10-15 mins away by quad, it's road legal and insured so that's all ok, waiting for public liability quote which may be the killer! Can anyone give any advice? I think the job will take only 15 mins per car park plus 30 mins travelling time, plus w thought just charge for the amount of grit used your help would appreciated
  10. We have a toyota dyna tipper, but need to get insurance on our 20 year old employee to drive it, many won't touch us as class anyone under 25 as a big risk and young and don't quote. Any suggestions very much welcomed!!!

  14. Thanks everyone, no crystal clear, who thought selling such a simple product cud b so confusing!
  15. We have a tipper with metal sheet floor, tip up body so on a steady angle, bags slide out a treat and 95% of the time land nicely on the floor! no logs spilt! No crane, trolleys, winches etc etc!
  16. Can anyone help? When selling to private individuals we charge 5%, shops / retailers we charge 20% who then resell netted logs for example at 5% because they are selling to the end user, but what about selling logs to a pub who will burn them for their own heating.......Answers please, as don't want to get caught out if we ever get an investigation. Thanks
  17. We have a stack of various odd lengths and diameters in the yard, all too big/bent for processor and haven't time to saw up, bit of oak, couple big fat lengths of big willow and the rest soft wood, just been pushed into a pile over last 18 months and it's time we sorted it out! , lengths vary from 2ft to 15ft, tractor trailer job to collect, we can load with telehandler, anyone interested come and view and make an offer. Approx 4-6 ton at a guess but Weigh bridge available 1 mile up the road so buyer happy they are paying for exact tonnage. Tel 07734964212, please no time wasters life is too short, not on the internet much of the time so best to call me.
  18. Thank you for replies, with no cover at all does the exposure to wet weather not slow seasoning down? Or I guess the other way of looking at it is when uncovered they dry out when not raining and only the top layer gets wet mainly? Cheers!
  19. Well....we have about 150 2m3 spud boxes for storing logs in, stacked 3 high when full, but really finding the best solution for covering the top box to protect from the rain a difficult one! Tried cut curtain sider sheet which is ok but collects water on top or blows off in high winds! Does anyone else do something different or should we not bother covering them at all?! Advice would be great, thanks will
  20. Anyone got a Toyota dyna 350 tipper? Looking at purchasing later in the year for delivering logs as just don't get enough in the hilux back and want to make the most of multi drop deliveries.....well that's the idea anyway! I'm told Toyota dyna is much better than the canter or Isuzu equivalent....and thought would be great
