will only 10" of roof still stop stuff blowing out even if its level loaded to the back with chip?

the question should be how much overweight will i be if i try!! 10" of roof will stop enoough. and allow you to shovel it out without turning ou into a cop magnet

Probably quite overweight, but i don't need you to tell me that. Its 3.5t so not as bad as this navara. I was just intersted to know if icould get away with less than my half lengthh roof and still load level back to 3/4 length or so without gradually fly tipping my load at 70mph.

Rob, cut the height down so the sloping front starts at the top of the cab roof and get yourself a Loadhandler! I use one and slot together greedy boards that travel flat in the buck when not in use. I see you have a mini chipper but if you need extra height when using a roadtow reverse the pickup onto a pair of wheel ramps. The system works a treat for us: it also helps get the chip to the front of the buck.

Having room to be able to shovel stuff out is part of the height.

If you make a full length roof and hinge it across the width you can fold the back half onto the front half and have all the standing room you need.

How much do you estimate that back has cost including labour ??

Labour was about 10 hours altogether. Materials £130 plus vat.

We thouht about hinges. But wanted rigidity and we seemed to have achieved that!

Load handler is definitely on the lshopping list!

I'll keep it mind for the next one. Used it today. And got a good amount of conifer in. Travelling at 60mph and there is only slight drag from the box. But nothing dramatic. Had it almost full to a reasonable level. I'll put a pic on tomorrow and I'll take it for a go on the weigh bridge to see the loading
