Fit 24 v bulbs to trailer

Fit voltage dropper to lorry, not that simple btw.

You can fit led lights/ bulbs and most of them do work at 12 or 24 v but whatever you do you need a visual or audible indicator in the cab to tell you the trailers there when you use the indicators. That is a problem with the leds because they draw so little current they often don't trigger the warning light, so you have to fit a resistor, which are either 12 or 24 volt......

we had a tw150 on the back of a 7.5 ton Iveco quite often .

just change the bulbs approx. £4 against the cost of that..........hmmm

Once you've changed the bulbs for 24V they will just look a bit dim on 12V but still work. Dual voltage LEDs are probably the way forward, though

If you had used the led ones Karl maybe stobarts would have seen you stopped in front of them.

thanks everyone that's interesting.

I do tow the chipper with a 12V vehicle some of the time, so didn't want to swap bulbs for 24V, although I might give it a try and see how dim they are.

dual voltage leds I suppose would be option 2.

Don't run 24V bulbs on 12V system as if Stobarts run up your arse and the police investigate you may be held liable. Just fit LED Dual voltage lights. (Its high time they were standard on trailers)
