husky fuel cans

anyone got a good fix for these hucky combi cans? is it just me or are the spouts made of the weakest plastic/design imaginable?

 

been through 3 fuel lids in 12 months and my current one leaks. you have to push it back up when you've finished refueling.

 

any other spouts have the same thread?

 

 

should i just put it in the bin?

The solution to your problem is to set fire to the husky one and buy either a stihl or oragon can!

agree totally..... I've got a nearly brand new husky can and all the spouts, used it about 2 weeks then got a stihl one, miles better....

 

I can't even give the old husky thing away

I think the original ones 15+ years ago were made of a better quality. It could just be nostalgia, I remember being impressed by them in use, then despite sanding rough edges or using a knife to take the join flat on the later ones, it Still sticks and slurps fuel everywhere.

Expect better for the brand and price.

I thought the same . First one I had lasted 8 or maybe 10 years . It fell off the back of the truck and broke the plunger spout . The new one I bought to replace it did not work . It stuck open . Bought 4 or 5 more till I found one that worked like the original . Just gonna look after this one .

I think part of the problem with the husky one is in its use. Time and time again I have watched people filling their saws up, then when removing the nozel they do so at an angle, catching the lip of the filler in the process. With my personal can I made sure I removed it vertically on each fill and it lasted a fair while longer than others I had seen.

 

That being said, my current can is Stihl and its had the same spout on it for about 6 years now and still going strong, so out of the current 2, it is defintly the better one. Look forward to seeing the new husky can though.
