VOSA landy and tacho

got pulled today by vosa in my 300tdi disco pulling a 1 ton trailer with 2.5 ton of chipper (pto) on the back.

 

i was reliably informed that my landy should be fitted with a tacho as i was outside the 50k allowed and total weight combination was well above the peritted 3.5 ton. i was sign written on both the landy and the chipper so was unable to say it was for private use.

 

i was looking at a £200 fixed penalty and a prohibition where i would have had to leave the trailer on site and return with a vehicle with a tacho and capable of towing 3.5ton

 

thankful due to my politeness and my explanation of this whole thing was new to me , they let me go with a caution and some bumf to read.

 

 

SOO has anyone had a tacho retrofitted and how much does it cost????

you need to get up earlier, pick off the stickers and take the back roads, or get a mog that goes very fast:001_tongue:

i have landy 130 tipper and would like to find out the same info. The lro website might provide the answer

Are you sign written for forestry or just arb?

 

The forestry, agriculture, horticulture exemption is 100 km from base......

 

Of course you are not covered for delivering firewood under any of these exemptions.

 

I hope you dont want to deliver firewood every Saturday either.

i was hiring out the heizohack hm 5-400 and was outside the 100km too

 

sign written for firewood and biomass woodfuel.

Does this really mean that I 'can't' use my Navara + 750kg trailer to ferry 1.5 tons of concrete blocks tomorrow? Total weight is looking at being well over 4 tons. The vehicle will piddle it but am I supposed to have a tacho for that?

I doubt it very much!!!!!!!! but budget on around 800 quid for a tacho installation probably more!

apparently "yes" if it is for business but not if it is private

also if going over 50km from home.
