Dowl jointer or biscuit?

Looking at the proz or conz for each. Both in terms of useability strenght etc. Dont want to spend big bux. any good makez etc?

Wud b used to join boards etc. And poss angled joints too.

Never used or seen 1.

For biscuit joints, i just use a biscuit cutter bit in my router.

i use both biscuits and dowels it all depends what and where the joint is

for joining boards biscuits or ply slither full length and a good glue

not used a dowel jointer before but if you are joining boards then a biscuit jointer is the best. i believe that dowel joints are very good for angles...

 

 

i have a dewalt probably the dw682k which you can pick up for £180. well worth it...

But a Biscuit jointer is far more accurate, quicker and can be left set up when you need to use your router......

 

I'd go for a biscuit jointer over a dowler every time, biscuits give you more accuracy and a little play in case you need slight sideways adjustment.

 

Better still would be a Domino but then you are talking big bucks but they are great bits of kit

Dont wanna spend out as such bcause it wont b used everyday. And besides i just won me a 10" thicknesser planer on ebay

Not tried a dowel jointer but love biscuit jointers. Just treated myself to a Lamelo one. Fantastic for joining up boards to make table tops etc. My old Freud one still works but needs 2 replacment springs. You can have it for the cost of postage
