Dowl jointer or biscuit?

biscuit jointers ok if you use it a lot, but its a one trick pony

compared to a router

 

But a Biscuit jointer is far more accurate, quicker and can be left set up when you need to use your router......

 

I'd go for a biscuit jointer over a dowler every time, biscuits give you more accuracy and a little play in case you need slight sideways adjustment.

 

Better still would be a Domino but then you are talking big bucks but they are great bits of kit

Not tried a dowel jointer but love biscuit jointers. Just treated myself to a Lamelo one. Fantastic for joining up boards to make table tops etc. My old Freud one still works but needs 2 replacment springs. You can have it for the cost of postage :thumbup:
