I have a an inexpensive one I bought on ebay. Its PRC in origin and a bit flimsy on the brackets but despite its low price the footage is plenty good enough and it is an effective tool.

It hasn't helped me yet but it was of use to a haulier when some plonker in a pickup carved one of their trucks up and caused an accident that would have otherwise been attributed to the truck driver.

Ask your insurer if you qualify for a discount once its fitted. They love a bit of CCTV evidence.

Thanks for that, is it just something I have noticed but is there more bad driving on the roads nowadays? Main reason I want to fit one.

I'm thinking of getting one for my own car as other road users seem utterly mental at the moment. One for back, one for front. Had a road rage matey the other day giving it the biggun because traffic was stationary ahead and I dared to not block the sideroad and let traffic pull out across me while I was waiting. Flashing his lights, beeping, pushing himself closer to my back end (oo err), then when traffic started moving again he carried on driving like an a hole. I couldn't even see the driver (some transit type thing) as he was so close.

My last work discussed having them but general consensus was invasion of privacy, but I'm not convinced of that tbh.

Having had an accident where a drunk went into the back of me then drove off (luckily his radiator split and his engine seized a few miles down the motorway), a rear cam would have picked him up and if he had got away, it would have been useful evidence as I was in no state to be remembering numberplates in a matter of moments.

I have to say my biggest gripe that frustrates me you got a full load of chippings pulling a chipper and you leave a good breaking distance in front of you and some numpty over takes you and fills up the gap. Agree with Adam you need one sometimes front and back of car.

I've got a rear mounted one on my Defender130 with live feed to a colour monitor in the cab. Doesn't record, but gives wide field of vision at the rear. (Makes hooking up to a trailer easy as well!)ImageUploadedByArbtalk1404113079.018844.jpg.1dbaee5420f6b1d3e16f4128f76a7031.jpg
