wrestling. Grappling is great all over conditioning. That and...more climbing!. I never ache from climbing...even big, hard climbs and I'm 45. If I hadn't been climbing every day for 15 years I'd be in rag-order!

core excercises are the best. theres a couple i do but unfortunately dont know what they are called! ive been tring to find them on google. one of my favourites though, it those ab wheels. stand with the backs of your legs against a wall and straight, with your body bent over and holding the ab wheel on the floor(preferable smooth kitchen type surface), then from the position move the ab wheel and lower your body in a controlled manner till its horizontal to the floor...without actually touching the floor or resting pull straight backwards to the starting position.

I would guess that about 60% of the climbers here could possibly do this excercise.....i'd estimate if you took your average guy off the street that figure would probably be nearer 5-10%

am intrigued but no idea what your on about

sounds like fun though

DEADLIFTS. Most people get sore back and injuries..not because of over work..but becasue there lower back is to weak. arb work does your arms, legs, abs. ..but when you are climbing in harness all day your lower back gets lazy..and weak. do deadlifts to make it stronger.

Great excercise! In adition to strehgthening your lower back works your shoulders and legs. While you have the bar you can do up right Rows or super set the excercise with some Cable crunches.

Wide grip pull ups with a leg raise at the top are also good.
