You can "juce" the 8274 up but the stock version is just fine for me

I've got a Husky 10 with plasma rope, linked to twin batteries with split charge system. Pros: pulls everything, can winch without engine running if needed - can't do that with either a PTO or hydraulic winch on a defender.ImageUploadedByArbtalk1402556974.643161.jpg.3ea3eeb83808eb64800b727a0ffddaae.jpg. Have to say 8274 are amazing winch but there not that powerful there fast I run two of them on my challange truck there grate but my 130 has a husky up front as it's got more grunt but slower if it's going to be occasional use I'd go for an electric as the unit is easy to fit and wire up than the macanicals of a pto

12 v winch you can pick up cheep & have it fitted up and running in 10 mins and a lot lighter

PTO winch are a lot dearer to buy & more involved to fit and a lot heaver

So it all depends on how much you want to spend really & how much you think your going to be useing it !!
