Self employed sign writing needs covering

Hi all,

I'm a self employed guy doing my own work and have had my truck sign written like you do, somebody that I do a lot of subby work for was told I was having it done before hand just in casual chat on a break, and didn't have anything to say about it. Another bloke I subby for is absolutely fine with it.

Anyway, after getting the tipping back covered, he has text me out of nowhere telling me I need to cover the writing up whilst I work for him else 'it will be causing issues'.

A) how am I supposed to cover up the writing now for the 1/2 days a week I work for him

B) I realise that I am effectively working for him whilst I am there, but at the end if the day I'm self employed and he could have brought this up beforehand and there's not much I can do now?

Hopefully you guys know what is the right answer or thing to be done as according to this guy 'everyone he knows insists on covering signwriting'

Cheers

You could ask him to provide you with magnetic signs with his own logo on to cover yours whilst you're on his job. If his work is that valuable to you, you could of course offer to pay for this if you're feeling generous, although it will be benefiting him(more exposure) so I would think he may be happy to provide these as a compromise

If he won't pay for them and you have to pay, you could maybe just get plain white (or whatever colour you prefer) magnets to cover it which might be cheaper than properly printed ones with his details.

Another good option, these could be used for future companies you may work for that have the same reservations :thumbup1:

Well from his point of view I would'nt even consider employing a subby who turns up with he's name on the truck, from experience it causes far too many problems.

if it's on steel just get some magnetic panels to cover them when you work for him, that or stop working for him.
