Hi, I'm quite new to this line of work.

I'm currently holding the CS 30 31 32 38 39.

I'm self employed and have been working for a tree specialist now for 7 months on the ground and climbing (storm damage, dead wooding, section felling, rigging)

I am getting offered more and more work myself now. I went to see a job........5 fairly big ash trees and one sycamore and all will need climbing, limbing and section fell to stump. The main stem to be disked to logs and limbs cut to managable lengths and stacked. The smaller stuff is just stack and mash.

I've said I would get back to her with a price, she wants me to do the job anyway but I want to be fair to her and myself

Any tips greatly appreciated

Many thanks

So, so many different factors! I'm sure someone has a set reply to this that they will copy and paste for you.

£40k should should get you a decent truck and chipper, the rest of your tickets, insurance, and tip sites or a yard.

Shortcuts are available.

40k!?

I'm sick and tired of these paddies with their ladders coming in and undercutting "real" tree surgeons.

It's people like you Mark that mean I can't quote competitively!

Work out your costs per day. Ie fuel, insurance, wages for you and groundy and some profit. Then work out how many days it will take then add it up and he presto £???? That's how much to charge.
