560 will pull a 20 fine, but not as well as a 362 (it seems to work very well on the Stihl IME).

I know that people will say a 20'' bar is too big for a 60cc saw.

1 - it isn't (possibly it was in the old days ie. ms360 etc)

2 - if you are taking it into a tree you want something light, not a 441 etc etc.

I cannot comment on the Echo as I have never used one.

Aha! You like the red devil then?!

I was watching a 560 today and it is definately a horrendously good saw with masses of sheer poke and agree with troll (for a change lol) that it's weight and handling are lovely. CS620 pips it for balance tho.

Yeah, very nice saw and it sounds lovely with the Spark screen removed:D

very few arbtalkers are going to say echo or dolmar. Echo CS-620sx for me tho because it works without fail and can be tuned yourself. The 560 is the least reliable of those you mention; yeah sure it cuts like a nutter, until it breaks down... Only a few of us on here have seen the light! :laugh1:

edit: the 600 is no more, a few 610's left, 620sx the one you want.

My 560 is brilliant, 2013 model, only problem is the rubber oil gallery keeps splitting, but a muffler mod will fix that

How does the echo compare on specs an cutting speed TCD?

I'm ok with my ported 346 xpg ATM however a 50cc saw will feel lame when I come to renew so may have to step up to 60cc and run it on 15" along with 18" on 372

Specs are rubbish. Merely comparing specs (which I did for years, pouring over every last catalogue data section) is a fruitless exercise. In the hands, in the wood is the only way. Thus you'll have to buy / try every saw to know.

I don't think it will be 560xp firepower but will last longer. Much better than 362 upto 18".

Hi,

560 everytime for me. Im now on my second as i replace after 2yrs, whack it on 3/8's full chisel stihl chain with standard sprocket housing and large 8 tooth rim, and my word they cut well! Never had bad troubles with them just wear and tear. As long as you tune the carb properly from the get-go to suit your fuel and again when things change i:e if its very hot or cold you'll get on just fine. Ours are thrashed day in day out on production cutting and i think itd be a hard saw to better. Never been a stihl fan although i think they are ok, just cumbersome and do like dolmars/makitas which would be my second choice. Worth trying them all if poss and tcd is right as the proof is in the timber and how it feels in your hands.

Cheers,

Andrew
