Just a thought

I think regional qualifying comps would work better here and benefit the overall interest in the comp scene

It works perfectly in NZ

If nz can have 4 regionals I can't see why UK doesn't have 4 at least!! Would make it a lot more attractive to get newcomers involved. How does the UK champs work if you don't have to qualify?? Just rock up and climb?

I couldn't make it because I'm rebuilding my house, Rosscoe couldn't come with me, I'd just burned a pass with the wife at Cutters and Climbers, and I'm a bad climber.

Other than that I would have owned that comp.

In a way yes but I think about only about 10% of arborists visit arb talk and that percentage will drop when they miss this page If they ever find arbtalk

If they want to comp climb they'll do it it no arbtalk thread will convince arborists to climb in comps

Again though it was discussed that these comps are great meeting places for sharing tips, ideas and having a beer or what ever , that appeals to me.

I know personally if I was going to entertain the idea I would rather go to a regional comp and have a go for the crac rather than half way across the country to be humiliated by the top 17 .

I know when the rec climbs on here happen there's usually not a bad turn out.
