Afternoon all, i no this has prob been on here b4 so il apologise now,

Climbed and dismantled a big pine tree today, but my rope/lanyard are covered in sap, what is the best way to clean this off??

Bung it in a pillow case in the washing machine, works for me, but as has been said, I don't really bother, only if it gets dragged through shite in some dirty scrotes garden :)

I got told, and have tried successfully, rub butter onto the rope and leave for about twenty minutes before washing. Apparently the fats in the butter breaks down the sap.

Best not to use normal washing powder the chemical detergent can be bad for the rope. Try Nikwax tech wash, good for all sorts of outdoor gear.
